About

Melody Lau is a music journalist and Ryerson journalism grad currently based in Toronto, ON.

Melody is a regular contributor at MuchMusic and Exclaim! Magazine. She is also the managing editor of Static Zine and a research assistant for the 2012 Best Music Writing book series. She was the Director of Communications at the 2012 SummerWorks Performance Festival.

She is the creator and owner of the Singing Lamb (www.singinglamb.ca), a local music website.

In 2013, she became a juror for both the Polaris Music Prize and the Prism Prize.

She is also the creator and organizer behind the Toronto Indie Blogger Brunch, a monthly brunch event that brings together local bloggers and photographers.

Melody kind of good at Twitter. The National Post named her one of the top Tweeters of 2012, right behind Conan O’Brien (because they were meant to be). BlogTO also thinks that you should follow her

Frequently Asked Question: What is your real name?

My real name is Melody Lau, not Lamb. Lamb was a childhood nickname that inspired the name of my website, The Singing Lamb. Incidentally, I’m allergic to wool and I don’t eat lamb.
